A recall clearance letter is a required document for importing a vehicle into Canada that states that your vehicle is free from safety defects. If you are processing your vehicle' and registering for the RIV program at the Canada Customs location, you must provide the Recall Letter to the inspector. For those visiting the RIV office personally, no recall letter needs to be presented to Canada Customs.
